About This Website

My main reason for starting this website is to hold myself accountable to my goal of reading more books. As a kid and young adult, I was a voracious reader. You could regularly find me carrying around a book and if asked, it was easy for me to recall a recent favorite. In the last few years, with working full-time at a job with an hour-plus commute, having two young children, and the invention of the smartphone, I found that it was lucky if I’d read even one or two new books each year.

And I missed it. I missed learning hearing new ideas and being exposed to different points of view. I missed being able to escape into different stories. And I also felt like I was wasting too much time staring at a screen, scrolling through click bait that was bringing no real value to my life.

Being a parent in a world now dominated by technology, I also want to be an example to my daughters. I want them to be curious about the world and see how reading can be a way to answer their questions. I want them to know that an actual physical book is a beautiful thing.

Finding the time to read isn’t easy, but it’s important enough to me that I’m going to make the time to do it. This website will be where I share a variety of books that I’ve enjoyed so that you can find some new reads that are worth your time, too. And maybe together we can meet our goal to read more books.

About Me

I answer to Becky, Rebecca, or Mama if you are a small person that lives in my home. I learned to read by the time I was in preschool and as a child held a deep affection for the Sweet Valley Twins/High series and R.L. Stine.  As your typical busy adult I’m trying to be more intentional about reading more and using this page to share what I’ve read recently and also revisit some old favorites. My hope this that others will be inspired to read more books as well.

I’m a Ronna.

I live with my family in Pawnee come to life – Homewood, IL.
